Mandatory T-day post.

I drove 60 miles.

I ate.

I drove 60 miles 6 hours later, I’m hungry for some strange reason.

I’m dead tired, yet can’t sleep.

State of the Nation(states)

Spam Post #… I forget.

The Community of Gods_Monkey is a very large, socially progressive nation, notable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 74 million enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level social equality free of the usual accompanying government corruption.

The enormous, socially-minded government concentrates mainly on Social Welfare, although Education and Healthcare are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 35%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small but healthy private sector is dominated by the Soda Sales industry.

The tenet of free speech is held dear, klingons are considered a delicacy, voting is voluntary, and same-sex marriages are increasingly common. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gods_Monkey’s national animal is the klingon, which is also the nation’s favorite main course, and its currency is the pant.

Gods_Monkey is ranked 5th in the region and 22,660th in the world for Largest Agricultural Sector

Removing Blogrolling.

Nevermind that I’m using my blogroll right now, I’m in the middle of a redesign and don’t have the will to work with that at the moment, when the design is done I go back to static links.

Step zero: back up all documents you edit, just in case.

Step one: somewhere you have text on your blog that looks like this http://rpc.blogrolling.com/something.php?r=bigalphanumericstring or a varaint. Take bigalpha string, and add it to this link: http://rpc.blogrolling.com/display_raw.php?r= And view it in a browser. This will give you the current code of your blogroll. View and save the source.

Step two.a: MT users. Create a new template module. Place your source from step one into it, removing the div(or table) code if you don’t want it in one. I would suggest naming it links or something similar. Save the module.

Step three.a: take the code where you used to import your blogroll, and replace it with something like this: <$MTInclude module=”links”$>. This instructs MT to place whatever is in the links template into the output at that point. In our case, this is the links code.

Step four.a: save and rebuild, you should have what was your blogroll appearing where you placed it. Management is as easy as adding and removing links from the template module.

Step two.b: PHP loving. Create a txt file, and take the code from step one and place it there, removing div/table code as desired. Place it in the directory you normally include from.

Step three.b: <?php include(‘path/to/txtfile’); ?> goes where you want the ex-blogroll placed. Upload to server. Management just uploads an edited file to replace the one you are using.

I wrote the second section as a general measure for non-MT users.

If you have any questions or comments, leave them in the comments section.

I’m back.

Yep, I’m all paid and back, ain’t it great?

Paging Mr. File.

Okay, so up until a couple days ago I had about a month of uptime… but the last couple weeks diskeeper had been saying it couldn’t defrag partition C:\ because pagefile.sys wasn’t scanning right.

Well, after my reboot, I show the hidden hidden files… and find that pagefile.sys, which is normally at C:\pagefile.sys, hasn’t been changed since Oct. 20th. I scanned it and found it was corrupted… so I began to wonder… how can my PC have operated without a valid page file?

A few minutes later, I’m browsing my D:\ partition and I find pagefile.sys on there. Modified within a couple minutes of my finding it.

It seems, that XP automatically changed the location of pagefile.sys when the first one became corrupted. I think this is actually pretty good, considering that I didn’t know this was going on until chkdsk fixed the C:\ one.

I deleted the C:\ one and rebooted again, and windows placed it back on C:\, and left D:\ alone.

I think this worked well. Microsoft thought ahead on that one.

For once, good job MS.

(P.S. I had enough free space I didn’t really notice the missing 768mb on my D:\)

ISP + Money = Offline

I will be offline until at least Monday… Thursday at the worst.

Mini-tutorial time!

The subject of today’s lesson is…

Setting your system clock to display 24 hour time.

I have xp, but the process should be similar for other versions of Windows.

Step one: Go to your control panel stuff, select regional and language options.

Step two: Customize button.

Step three: Time format – Clear the box and put HH:mm:ss

Step four: Okay a couple tims.

And… we are done :D

Lawful Ebil

Source, describes me well.

Lawful Evil

These characters believe in using society and its laws to benifit themselves. Structure and organization elevate those who deserve to rule as well as provide a clearly defined hierarchy between master and servant. To this end, lawful evil characters support laws and societies that protect their own concerns. If someone is hurt or suffers because of a law that benifits lawful evil characters, too bad. Lawful evil characters obey laws out of fear of punishment. Because they may be forced to honor an unfavorable contract or oath they have made, lawful evil characters are usually very careful about giving their word. Once given, they break their word only if they can find a way to do it legally, within the laws of the society. An iron-fisted tyrant and a devious, greedy merchant are examples of lawful evil beings.

  1. Always keeps his word of honor.
  2. Lies and cheats those not worthy of his respect.
  3. May or may not kill an unarmed foe.
  4. Never kills an innocent but will harm, harass or kidnap.
  5. Never tortures for pleasure but will to extract information.
  6. Never kills for pleasure – always has a reason.
  7. May or may not help someone in need.
  8. Respects honor and self-discipline. Has no time for the law.
  9. Will work with others to attain his goals.
  10. May take dirty money.
  11. Never betrays a friend.

*yawn*

sooo…. tired…
