April 24th, 2004.
NFL Draft, 2004.
Lambeau Field Atrium, Green Bay.
Najeh Davenport. Too bad I missed him, got there too late to get him to sign anything.
Byrce Paup. Waited in line, and while we where there, James Lee was also giving out autographs. Of course, in this state, any person who makes it out onto the sidelines of the Packers is a person worthy of having an autograph of. Got mine on the little mini-footballs they gave to everyone as they entered.
Al Harris. Bling Bling Boy. Showed up in a rastafari hat, large ass diamon earings, and a necklace that probably cost more than most cars. This dude was definetly living it up. Got his autograph too. Got this on a ’slightly smaller than regulation’ size football with 3 white panels designed for autographs.
Ahman Green. Batman. Even his hair give is cut to add to the Batman aura. Got him to sign his Hancock on a mini-helmet. We got in line immediately after getting out of the line for Harris, and we still had to wait a half hour of the line to get to Green. Still, an interesting experience. We made sure to ask him if Carrol, the first round draft pick of the packers, who is nicknamed “Batman” as well will have to change his name to Robin. He smiled at that.
My feet hurt. Alot.
We did go to dinner at a steakhouse down the road from the stadium, and it was some really good steak. Steak, cheesy hash browns, mushrooms. Winning combination, that.
Of course, just to be plain odd, as I’m writing this I’m listening to Alizée. Very odd, no?
I guess, if you aren’t going to pay attention to the draft, the best place to do so would of course be the stadium of your favorite team. Makes a lot of sense, don’t it?
Why am I asking you?
My feet still hurt.
Oh well, I guess that’s just something I’m going to have to deal with tonight, as I prepare for bed. It’s not like Green Bay is over 2 hours away.
